I know what you mean about wanting to start over a few times. I did the same when I played Oblivion... eventually created a very strong character though.

There aren't really any tips to give as it depends on your character and your skills and perks. For example, having the fast reload perk makes the pistols and shotguns work well, without the perk, the rifle's are very good and you could pick a different perk.

With the special points you have to consider what you want to do with Luck... either put your luck down to 1 point and significantly increase a couple of the other attributes or make sure your luck is 6 or above (one or the other, the points inbetween are wasted), but then you will have to pick another attribute to decrease to make a more balanced character.

Maybe you should consider what you want your character to be good at (sneaking, lockpick, explosives, speech, etc) and choose your special points based on that.

Never thought about the luck one, thats getting fired right down lol.

You can't go wrong with either way, in fallout 3 I put my luck down to 1 and all the other attributes quite high which made the game good fun.

But this is vegas, so I have gone the other route (gonna have fun when I reach the casino's!) and I have put my luck up to 7, however I picked Charisma to be my low score so that I could still have other strong attributes.

I know Big pants has gone for high luck (9) and high Intelligence (, but then left all his other attributes about average (4's and 5's). Just something else to think about.

I find that Agility is usually a good thing to invest in when your starting the game. Increases your V.A.T.S points by quite a lot. But then again it all depends on how u wanna play the game, no sense in pumping up agility if u wanna make a character that uses melee weapons cuz strength is more useful here.

I think my SPECIAL stats are:

Strength= 6
Perception= 6
Endurance= 5
Charisma= 3
Intelligence= 7
Agility= 8
Luck= 3

Carry less weight and equip light/no armour. Also keep your gun holstered

If my personality reflects on this game then i am a terrible person. Last night i found NOVAC at fucking last, went into some old couple's house, stole there stimpaks and hunting rifle and killed them both as they slept.

I went up to find Boone and started the mission for him, found the first black guy and took him out to get slaughtered lmao, went back to boone and killed him coz he was pissed at me.

Managed to buy the scope for my 9mm and a silencer for my Vermit rifle. from the shop at goodsprings. lol. Gonna try and get some powerful weapons tonight.

My load out i think will be an old western theme. Revolver called lucky, its a beast . With a cowboy repeater the big boomer sawn off and my grenade launcher and hunting rifle.

More importantly where did you get Lucky and a sawn-off? Back to goodsprings I go! There is a sheriff's duster in Primm, that would set your look off very well. The cowboy repeater is a beast. I found a maple stock that halves the weight of the gun.

Don't put the silencer on the Vermant rifle, save it for a better rifle. Assuming you can do that.

Lloydy, your special stats seem quite good apart from luck, which is what I was saying previously... IMO 3 points in Luck seems like 2 points wasted. You're not going to get too many more critical hits than if you had 1 point (there is a perk at level 10 that can significantly increase your critical hit chance as well) and you haven't opened up any decent perks that are luck related. I guess you might still struggle when you reach a casino to win anything as luck impacts the probability calculator.

Sawn off is called big boom or something, you get it in a scrap yard just north of Novac, you need to kill some old bitch and she has it.

Lucky is found in the casino in primm. go throungh the main enterance and through the walkway ahead, take your first left and into that room there is a floor safe behind the counter its in there.

Nah the silencer was specifically for that rifle .

Didnt start a new game just continued on, may go for it at the weekend when i have more time.

The scrapyard north of Novac is Gibson scrapyard and the old lady is one of only a handful of merchants that sells weapon mods. No wonder you couldn't find any!

I take it the safe, with lucky in, is going to be difficult to pick?

ehhh thinks its a 75. If you go talk to sunny and ask for any jobs to do she will say no but that there are safes all over teh place with caps in them and gives you a magazine that ups you lockpick fo rthe timebeing.

Got a bit further, came across some new fucking wasp like thing that are a pain in the ass lol. The cowboy repeater is the most awesome weapon i love it. Kicke dover a legion camp with boon and now we have legion assasins on us, easy loot tho.

Boone is a fucking bad ass, anyone know how to get "THAT gun" from the guy in the dino store. Can i steal it or kill him for it?

Any tips on clearing out the basement of teh repconn building for that glowing dick????

That Gun is sold by another person that sells weapons mods (They are few and far between). The gun is held in the storage room, but I think it requires a key(?), which can be pickpocketed from the guy. You could buy the gun from him, then kill him for the caps, which is the same as killing him for the gun.

Boone is fucking monster with his sniper rifle. I've given him one of those swords that the super mutants use, which is like 1 or 2 hits for a kill.

I didn't think your companions could die? I might be wrong. But a deathclaw attacked Boone and when I went over to him, it said that he was unconscious, then I died and it didn't matter!

I cleared the REPCONN basement without a companion and I mainly used a pistol... I did have to save after every kill though and I must have died 2 or 3 times!

Yeah only hardcaore mode they can die, he just kept going unconcious.
What pistol did you use. The things are hard to kill for me ??

I'm playing on normal and find the game very hard. Having great fun tho. I have given boon a 10 mm pistol. He has his sniper rifle and i gave him a vermit rifle with hollow point ammo incase he needs it

I do you get any cowboy armour ???? i had some in FAllout 3 would like it in this one. At the moment i have leather armour and boone had metal.

Oh and dont buy the grenade rifle its fucking shit.

Don't know if anyone can help me but I'm having some trouble at the HELIOS ONE station. When I'v got into the main tower where the security system is active, i'm destroying the robot guards and its saying that im becoming out of favour with the NCR. Anyone know a way to get this mission done without becoming out of favour with the NCR?

Prior to this I'v been to both the computer terminals outside and rerouted them both to the mainframe, had to kill some dogs at one of them though. You dont think that has anything to do with it?

Sheriff's duster and hat can be found in PRIMM at the dead sheriff's house, it's around the outskirts of the town and just looks like a little shack. Inside you find the old sheriff and his wifes dead bodies. Just loot from them.

Yer man I completed it, made 2 save files and watched them crash and burn lol. Then i replayed it and made the flight more efficient. Also convinced that Chris guy that he is human and sent him to Novac!

How did you clear out the basement, i keep getting pole axed. Can you get liek Night vision or something to see the invisable bastards.

I have been to helios one buut havent started the mission yet, seems liek a weekend one to me man lol.

I dunno didn't go in with a set method, i think i used the 10mm sub machinegun. Dont know if ED-E had anything to do with being able to spot the nightstalkers cuz of its ability, but yer i used a mix of dynamite, ED-E, Boon and the 10mm smg.

If you still cant do it just knock the difficulty down. And if your low on health make use of the makeshift bedding in the first room in the basement.

Where did you get the 10mm SMG?

Dont have the repair skil or science to repair EDi. Might just go at it with some mines and Frag's so they cant rush me. Get Boone to pick them off. Can i use teh stealth boy to go invisible an dthey wont see me. I have a shit ton of them.

lol i get jumped by them occasionally aswell. Ermmmm not sure where i got it from tbh, i just picked it up from a dead guy but iv found plenty of them so i dont think they're rare or anything.

I still havent Ventured any where near the strip. Too dangerous for me lol. I have managed to destro y a good few Giant Radscorpions thanks to Boone. Such a helpful guy. I need to get my Karma back up lol, always stealing from some where. I also have about 3000 caps that i dont know what to spend on, would love to mod some of my weapons but cant find anything.

If you are stuggling for caps, go to Old Lady gibsons junk yard, kill her and take her unique shotgun, its worth alot of caps. Think i got like 1500 for it. Anyone found any vaults yet????

yer man im just saving my caps for weapon mods and stimpaks. I'v brought one mod but its for plasma rifles .... which i dont use :/
