Gameplan (Search and Destroy)

I thought I'd suggest a really random strategy for SnD that I just came up with. Please feel free to shoot it down in flames, but here goes....

What if when defending on SnD everyone just stays together and away from the bombsites, effectively allowing the other team to spread out and plant freely. Then, when they have done that, our entire team could 'en masse' move to the bomb site, take out the enemies there, start defusing and protect the bomb defuser from enemies arriving.

While this sounds counter intuitive consider this....

1) We would have a full strength team to defuse the bomb,
2) The full strength team would be taking on a split enemy force,
3) The full strength team could use a full array of grenades, tactical grenades, C4's, LAW's etc on a concentrated area,
4) Hopefully the defuse could be done quite easily.

This would be the equivilent of rushing a bombsite when you're on the attacking team.

Maybe this could be tried out if we were 3-0 up sometime?

Could work, When i play with demo and JImmers and matti, we usually go with teh Game plan i came up with for our MW2 GB team, 2 people go around as slayer, while the remainder work on teh objective. Worked pretty well for us.

Good plan. Mine was just really an 'off the wall' alternative suggestion for mixing it up a bit.

Yeah will do, give it a few tests and see how it works out. Too many variables for any plan to be consistent in this game, really. This could be fun too though

Nice idea but slims plan's has been tried and tested 1000's of times and never fails.

might be worth using BP's game plan if things arn't going our way

Never fails? Really? We suck at S&D in Black Ops man!!

Speak for your self dude, the only reson we suck at is because we have not played it that much in BO, soon as u learn the spawns and usally hiding spots its all the same. me and demo have been killing it on there

search has gone down the pan on black ops, most people play it as a TDM with no lifes. domination i never liked in the past series but love in this game.

Might have to buy it again starting to miss it already

Why would the enemy forces be split? Against a well organised team, this would be unlikely.

It limits us to having to take out the entire enemy team in 40 seconds (5 seconds to defuse the bomb). It is unlikely that we are going to kill the "split up" enemy team near the bomb, then try and defuse the bomb with half the enemy team left running around.

The enemy team is unlikely to be in a concentrated area, but they will have taken up defensive positions (which we should be in!).

Maybe if we are 3-0 up and want a challenge, we could try this, but I think it is suicide.

Good point, 30 seconds to get there, clear em outta defensive positions, then defuse seems unlikely. Maybe with 6 of us it's likely, we'll give it a shot and find out

Ok, I'll accept a fail on this, but can we have a secondary strategy as a fallback plan?

I totally get that Simy's plan from MW2 works a treat and should be the primary plan, but like the A Team I like having a plan.

But i love it when a plan comes together.

Yeah teh S and D plan worked rvery well on GB, My slayers were usually Jimmers matti and demo, with me and ownage keeping an eye on a bomb site, Then if it turns out that the killed me and ownage and planted, the three of them will be coming behind them . Always works.

I don't remember the B team having a 100% record on GB!?

Saying that, I do like the plan.

Search is difficult to have a fallback plan. It depends on whether we are attacking or defending and whether the enemy team rush or sit back.

One thing I have noticed when we play Search is that we don't work as a team like we did on MW2 and we are not fimiliar with each others usual routes.

When we have played search though I don't think we lose any more than we do in Domination, but if we played search more then I think that would be our best game type again, maybe not everyone's favourite though.

I've lost roughly 8 out of 10 games playing with at least a squad of 4 of you guys. You guys claim to do alright with S&D, I guess I'm just a curse and I've yet to see that be the case. I don't drag the team down, either.. I'd finish top, so I think I am just a curse right now.

Whenever I've played search with you Jager, we have definitely won more than 2 out of 10 games, however that has not been because of me inparticular.

I think we have enjoyed playing domination more in BO than MW2, which is why this game type seems to be our fall back mode. I still stick by that search makes you a better player.

Well that's just the last 10 games I've played. Search makes you a better player, Domination makes you a better team. I'm more interested in the latter, I think I've reached my limit personally.

B team done better than the A team Jimmy :p

Its not fool proof as no plan is. But it worked quite well.

8 out of 10 games is bollocks, ive playe dwith you abit and yeah we lost some but we win alot as well.

Once again, MY LAST 10 GAMES.. One session we lost 6/7 S&D games, BigPants, Demo, Jimmers at least were with me I think.

How many games did B team win?

Simy; The B team might have won more games, but they played a lot more... I bet the B team's w/l ratio was worse than the A team!

My point in an earlier post is that search is about adapting quickly and there really isn't a plan that will do well in all situations. Generally you split the team between each bomb site, with some people attacking, some defending. Fingers crossed!

I think we should play some more search with Jager and try and beat this 20% win ratio Jager thinks we have. BigPants and Jimmers are not the best players on Search, which is possibly the problem. BP is more of a utility guy taking out air-support and defending. Jimmers seems to always rush and either does really bad or really good.

A won 2 and lost 3 I think.. B won 2 and lost about 6?

Team one, Won 1 match and lost 3

Team two, Won 3 matches and lost 6, with one pending.

The A team definitely won more than 1. There was one game I played, where we won the first game 4-1 and then we were 3-1 up and they just dashboarded and filed the scores on GB with them winning and we couldn't be bothered to argue.

It was recorded for Team one as 1-3, but we were 2-2. We just couldn't dispute the other team lieing.

2-2 is better than 3-6.
